Reconstructive skin surgery in dogs and cats is different from people as companion. Full thickness skin grafts are more easily harvested by surgeons. Skin grafts are most commonly used in dogs and cats. Grafts provide a thin covering over distal extremities, therefore are very cosmetic.

Elayna

Veterinary Assistant

Hi, my name is Elayna Howington! I’ve always had a deep love for animals and have been naturally drawn to them for as long as I can remember. I’m passionate about helping those who can’t speak for themselves and believe in showing kindness through compassionate care. I’m currently studying Zoology at Oregon State University and plan to continue into veterinary medicine after I graduate. My goal is to learn everything I can about animals—wildlife, exotics, marine life, and more—so I can provide the best care possible and make a meaningful impact in both veterinary care and wildlife conservation. I’m a proud dog mom to Mable and Yuki, and in my free time, I enjoy relaxing at the beach, spending time with my fiancé, and sipping on a good cup of coffee.
