An Average Day for Boarders at Seven Oaks
At Seven Oaks Pet Hospital, we take pride in treating your furry (or scaly) friends just as well as you do. Regardless of if it’s a dog, cat, or exotic pet, our boarding services team has the tools and experience required to keep them safe, comfortable, and happy during their stay.
We send all our boarding customers photos and status updates each evening, so you will always be informed about your pet’s well-being. However, we know how it feels to wonder what’s happening with your pet, so all owners are welcome to call us anytime during business hours to check on their boarded animal.
All of our boarding kennels are cleaned and sanitized three times every day to ensure your pet’s health and comfort while they’re with us. We encourage owners to bring their pet’s normal food for use while boarding to avoid digestive problems.
We would love to accommodate all pets, regardless of their needs. However, at this time, we can not accept any pets with pre-existing medical conditions or that require medications. We also cannot allow toys or personal items in the kennels for safety reasons.
Dogs
Our dog boarding kennels are indoor and climate-controlled, so your pup will be as comfortable as possible day and night. We provide three walks per day for each dog, with individualized attention to help ease issues with separation anxiety.
Cats & Exotic Animals
Cats and exotic pets who board with us enjoy indoor, climate-controlled spaces where they are frequently monitored throughout the day. While we can’t take the kittens, birds, or reptiles outside, we still provide affection and stimulation throughout the day for those that will allow it.

Required Tests & Vaccinations
In order to keep all of our boarded pets as healthy as possible, we require current documentation of the following tests and vaccinations. Only tests and vaccines given by a licensed veterinarian will meet this requirement.
- Dogs
- Rabies vaccine
- Distemper vaccine
- Bordetella vaccine
- Negative heartworm test and up to date on heartworm preventative medication
- Negative fecal test
- Cats
- Rabies vaccine
- FVRCP vaccine
- Negative fecal test
The Bordetella vaccine should be given a minimum of one week before your pet’s arrival date to be sure your pet doesn’t have an adverse reaction. We recommend using this same precautionary timeline with any pre-boarding treatments and vaccines.
